Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY)

In Mobile, Baldwin, and Escambia counties in Alabama, Goodwill’s HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) Program is a free, comprehensive early childhood education initiative aimed at empowering parents of children 3-5 to become their child’s first teacher and preparing young children for success in school. The core component is a structured curriculum delivered directly to families in their homes. Trained home visitors conduct weekly visits and work closely with parents to teach them how to effectively implement a structured curriculum and engage their child in learning activities.

Parents as Teachers (PAT)

In Mobile, Baldwin, and Escambia counties in Alabama, Goodwill’s PAT (Parents as Teachers) Program is a free, comprehensive early childhood home visitation program that aims to support parents of children ages birth to 5 in their role as their child’s first and most influential teacher. Trained parent educators conduct regular home visits to provide families with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to promote their child’s healthy development and school readiness. Parenting sessions may address positive discipline techniques, building strong parent-child relationships, and fostering independence.
